This cosy hostel has a great style and offers a warm atmosphere. The breakfast and beds are enjoyable. Staff member Shin went above and beyond to help us, providing train routing/schedule assistance, options for transportation, and even making sure our late check-in was possible. He was informative, patient, and friendly throughout our stay.
We felt totally at home during our stay at this hostel, with no reason to complain.

The value for money at this hostel was great, and the room was comfortable with a unique Japanese wooden interior design. The location was convenient, with nearby train stations and shops, and the staff were extremely helpful and quick to respond to messages.
The morning meal could be improved by making it quieter after 8am.

Fairfield House in Kyoto was an amazing stay. the staff at the hostel were incredibly thoughtful and kind. I arrived early and they kindly held my luggage for me until I checked in. They also gave me great recommendations for sightseeing and food. the atmosphere was relaxed, the lodgings were good, and I had a great sleep. The hostel had a Japanese-style street which gave it a unique and charming vibe. Cons: Could not be improved in any way. 🙌.

The room was amazing! It had everything we needed, from air conditioning to a microwave, fridge, and kettle. I loved having a private bathroom and the desk was a nice touch. It felt like a cozy little home away from home.
The only thing I didn't love was the shared bathrooms. But hey, that's just my personal preference.

I had an amazing time at Fairfield House Hostel during my stay in Kyoto. I extended my visit twice because I didn't want to leave this special backpacker's style hostel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the small kitchen had all the essentials. The common dining area was a great place to meet fellow travelers and exchange stories. The hostel had a relaxed vibe and the sleeping area was quiet for a good night's sleep. it was a wonderful experience with lots of new friends made.
Would recommend this hostel.

The bathrooms were clean and the hostel was conveniently located near bus stops and the subway. The price was also very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for a comfortable and affordable stay in Kyoto.

The room at Fairfield House in Kyoto was really cozy and comfortable. It had everything I needed for my stay, like a microwave, fridge, and air conditioning. The private bathroom was also a huge plus!
I personally didn't like the shared bathrooms. But I understand that some people might not mind it at all.

The location of the hotel is incredibly convenient. It is very close to the bus stop, making it easy to explore the area. it is close to the subway station, which is great for getting around quickly. the hotel also has a traditional feel with sliding doors and a mattress on top of tatami, adding to the overall ambiance.
The stairs leading to the entrance of the hotel are quite narrow and steep, which can be a bit challenging with bulky luggage.

The staff here were so friendly and helpful, offering great tips on where to eat and what to see in the city. the hostel had a really welcoming atmosphere, and it was easy to meet other travelers. They provided curtains on the beds, which gave some privacy in the dorm room. Plus, the location was perfect, with easy access to public transport and a coin launderette nearby.
That there was someone snoring in the dorm, but thankfully earplugs were provided. considering that Kyoto's attractions are spread out, this wasn't a huge issue.
